Gateway Maryland is a well established, private, non-profit organization located in Baltimore, Maryland that offers a multitude of services to individuals of all ages with communication disorders and disabilities. Our mission is to help connect people to their worlds through our Language Access, Inclusion, Education, Hearing Health, and Speech-Language Pathology programming. Gateway School is a program of Gateway Maryland, a Maryland State Department of Education approved non-public special education school.
Position Summary
The BCBA will plan, oversee, implement, and train staff on skill acquisition and/or behavior reduction programs for children with special needs, including but not limited to autism. This individual will also provide support and professional learning to staff, parents, and caregivers in appropriate behavior intervention techniques. The BCBA will support classrooms and use proactive behavior management strategies to create a learning environment for the student to meet with success.

Responsibilities
- Plans and oversees the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Serves as a member of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team to share assessment information and assists in developing behavioral goals and objectives for students with behavioral difficulties.
- Performs Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) with IEP teams for students.
- Supervises and trains staff who implement behavior-analytic interventions.
- Evaluates effectiveness of the behavior intervention plan by means of direct observation, analyzing data, and making necessary adjustments and updates to optimize student progress.
- Develops and maintains communication with parents and caregivers regarding progress of students.
- Provides updates on student goals and provides detailed notes regarding progress of students.
- Maintains strict confidentiality per HIPAA and FERPA regulations and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field required.
- Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) (preferred).
- Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in the state of MD (preferred).
- Experience working with children, especially those with special communication needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Evidence of ability to work effectively with people, parents, staff, and various community and professional groups.
- Ability to provide a good verbal speech and language model.
- Proven endeavors towards professional growth and learning.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 25 lbs; sit, stand, or bend for long periods of time.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
