Set on a private 48-acre estate, this 18-year-old event destination fell under new ownership in December 2021 and has undergone several property renovations, established new operational processes, employed all new staff and created many new customer-centric initiatives. The venue features a wide selection of chic, rustic settings (both inside and out), ideal for elegant weddings, social events, corporate retreats, retirement/board dinners, holiday parties, charity galas, wellness programs, and other life celebrations. Briscoe Manor also provides exclusive off-site catering services from its Chef-driven in-house kitchen. Additionally, a variety of drink menus and specialty cocktails are offered through its in-house beverage company, Foster Services.
Event & Catering Sales Specialist Position Description
The Event & Catering Sales Specialist is responsible for showcasing and selling the Briscoe Manor venue and its services for weddings, corporate and other social events. Handling incoming event inquiries and turning inquiries into booked events. Researching and identifying Houston area businesses and organizations to contact to bring awareness of the venue and its offerings, as well as to sell its off-site catering services. Act as a “face of the business” in both the local community and Greater Houston event market. With an inner drive and a passion for Sales, possess a demonstrated record of booking events. It is also important to have a well-rounded knowledge of the event business and possess a “team” mindset and “roll up the sleeves” attitude and be willing to step in and perform a variety of job roles when necessary – whether that be conducting a tour, coordinating an event, training sales/event staff, etc.
Responsibilities
· Answering all incoming inquiries (phone, emails, Tripleseat, website, social sites) regarding corporate events, social events, and weddings
· Update the white board with sales goals each week
· Understand how to navigate Tripleseat software program (contracts, payments, edit and send menus/proposals)
· Schedule and conduct venue tours
· Be fully knowledgeable about the various venue settings and locations to advise on possible ceremony and reception areas.
· Be knowledgeable about the rentals offered by the Venue
· Complete booking process with client - contract and payment (obtain and track all payments)
· Appropriately transition booked client to Event Specialist team
· Understand, manage, and create catering & beverage menus
· All Briscoe Manor team members receive cross training with other departments to provide insight into other team’s roles, create coverage for absences, provide better customer service, and to encourage team members to realize their growth potential and become professionally well-rounded
· Transition client relationship over to Event Specialist team upon signing of the contract
Qualification:
· Has a true passion for selling an “experience” to clients.
· Has 3+ years of event sales experience. Additional experience with off-site catering sales is a plus.
· Confident and successful at selling event venue services, as well food and beverage catering/menus
- Is an effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of TripleSeat, AllSeated and Smartsheet software preferred (or similar event software programs)
· Creates excellent client experience from initial introduction through contract signing stages
· Is a motivated, positive, respectful, and detail-oriented individual
· Is a team player
· Possesses great problem-solving skills
· Works well in fast-paced, high stress environment
