Major Responsibilities:

- Supervises employees engaged in repairing and maintaining company vehicles. Supervisory responsibilities may include training and orientation of new personnel. This also includes coordinating work, participating and instructing technicians (when appropriate) in the repair of vehicles.
- Administers preventive maintenance schedule and program and reports out of service issues to fleet manager.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations related to vehicle maintenance.
- Coordinates, schedules and processes repair orders to completion.
- Performs inspections of completed repairs to ensure thoroughness and quality of repair and suitability of vehicle for return to service.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and works cooperatively and jointly with all relevant departments to provide seamless customer service.
- Maintains daily logs of all work performed on company vehicles.
- Maintains current and complete vehicle maintenance files that meet regulatory guidelines
Qualifications:
- 3 plus years of diesel repair employment experience or a combination of education & experience.
- Must have appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
- Previous supervisory experience with processes and people
- ASE certifications a PLUS.
- Bus experience HIGHLY PREFERRED
- CDL License are Preferred; Must be willing to get Class B CDL with passenger endorsement within three months of hire
- Must be able to read, comprehend and assist other technicians with service literature and parts manuals .
- Understanding of how to accurately record labor time and parts/services utilized on work order reports.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and/or sit for extended periods, use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to use fingers bilaterally and unilaterally (one-handed) to unload boxes and operate office equipment such as computers, copiers, printers, etc.
- The employee is often required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to and above 75 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull in the performance of shop related duties.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
