The Senior Accountant is a full-time position within the finance team. This role reports to the US Business Controller & Finance Director and will challenge you in a positive way and allow you to experience various aspects of accounting, controlling and payroll within a dynamic group and organization. The position is based in Maynard, MA.
Duties/Responsibilities
– Responsible for working with the payroll service provider and the factory managers in the processing, monitoring, and reviewing of the hours and the weekly payroll.
– Work closely with the payroll service provider to ensure that all salary increases, adjustments, paid time off, and bonuses are accurately calculated and processed.
– Be the direct point of contact of the staff for any issue related to HR, payroll, time management or health insurance.
– Responsible for the day-to-day full cycle accounting.
– Perform month-end closing account (bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, GL reconciliations), journal entries and compile various monthly reports.
– Upload financial statements in the consolidation software each month and work on the intercompany reconciliations with the other business unit accountants.
– Assist US Business Controller and Finance Director in group requests and yearly budgeting processes.
– Help the purchase manager and the production management in monthly inventory management.
– Develop a deep understanding of the accounting aspects in the company’s ERP system and the material / purchase variances that could occur during the month.
– Prepare documentation for external auditors and respond to audit requests/questions as needed.
– Assist the General Manager and the Finance Director in various one-off projects that occur throughout the fiscal year.
– Identify, document, implement and drive process improvements of accounting processes for increased efficiencies and controls enhancement.
Required Skills and Abilities
– Extremely Proficient and knowledgeable in Excel.
– Experience with ERP system is a must.
– Strong technical and analytical skills.
– Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
– Extremely organized and detailed oriented.
– Strong interest in improving processes, seeking efficiencies, and implementing best practices.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education and Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Master’s degree preferred.
– 3-5 years of manufacturing accounting experience required.
– 3-5 years of experience with payroll.
– Must live in the Maynard, MA area.
– Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
