We are searching for an Inpatient Staff Nurse - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or Associate’s degree or technical diploma in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement required
RN license from the Board of Nursing of the State of Texas required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
One year professional nursing experience required
One year of professional nursing experience in Labor & Delivery preferred
Current ACLS, NRP and fetal heart monitoring preferred
One year of OR and/or PACU experience is preferred
Responsibilities:
Collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care
Discusses the patient’s plan of care with family and/or significant individuals and documents in the medical record as appropriate
Determines which standards of care and practice apply to the patient; coordinates and communicates this information to other health care team members, in order to meet patient needs
Implements and individualizes plan of care based on nursing assessment, reflecting the bio-physical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs of the patient/family
Evaluates and documents patient’s response to the care provided and recognizes the patient’s progress toward meeting the desired outcomes and discusses with the patient/family
Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other health care team members
Demonstrates appropriate delegation and prioritization skills related to patient interventions and therapies
Acts as a resource in educating new employees and other members of the team to ensure the delivery of quality patient care
