Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - PRN
Gastroenterology Specialists Inc is a rapidly growing practice with strong referral and clinical relationships within the healthcare industry. We are a 100% physician owned practice that consists of five board certified physicians, three certified nurse practitioners and a physician assistant, complemented by a highly trained clinical support staff. The endoscopy center is an outpatient-based facility serving Stark and the surrounding counties, performing approximately 175 endoscopy procedures per week. The facility is open Monday through Friday 7-4.
We are currently seeking PRN CRNAs to join our team (No weekends, no major holidays, and no call).
Daily Duties
Under general direction of a physician, the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) administers anesthetics and monitors the anesthetized patient during Endoscopic procedures. Works within the guidelines and scope of practice of the CRNA Practice Act.
- Reviews pre-operative history and physical, laboratory data, consultations, or any other pertinent data prior to initiating the IV sedation.
- Reviews appropriate documentation for informed consent for IV sedation.
- Prepares monitoring devices, medications, and airway management pre-procedure.
- Initiates the IV sedation in the presence of the Gastroenterologist.
- Monitors the patient’s physiological condition as appropriate for the IV sedation and specific patient’s needs.
- Manages a patient’s airway and pulmonary status using current practice modalities.
- Facilitates emergence and recovery from IV sedation.
- Responds to emergency situations with surgery center by providing airway management including intubation (if needed) and documents treatment rendered.
- Documents patient information accurately and timely on the anesthesia record in accordance with the policies of Gastroenterology Specialists.
- Safely transports patients from procedure room to post anesthesia area and accurately reports patient status to qualified post-procedure care givers. Remains with patient upon transfer until the patient’s immediate condition is acceptable.
Education and Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current licensure in Ohio.
- Graduate of nurse anesthesia program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs.
- Successful completion of the certification examination administered by the AANA National Board of Certification/Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.
- Compliance with Ohio’s state regulatory requirements for obtaining a Certification of Authority (COA).
- Current Registered Nurse and APN Licensure with the State of Ohio.
- BLS and ACLS Certification.
