Chef/Line Cook
This position reports to Food and Beverage Manager
The Chef/Line cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, plating and serving food so that wait staff can deliver the food to the customer in a timely manner. The chef is responsible for bringing food onto the train from the walk in, putting the food away and sorting the food so that it can begin to be prepared. The chef is also responsible for adhering to modifications based on customer requests and cleaning the workspace throughout the time that they are cooking and serving. The chef will communicate to the expeditor, wait staff, customers, passenger service attendants and conductor as needed throughout the excursion. The chef will prepare all ingredients prior to cooking and then use all equipment necessary (grills, steam tables, stove tops, ovens, etc.) to cook food thoroughly and completely. The chef is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area, ensuring that the kitchen staff is performing their duties in a timely manner and ensuring that the kitchen is operating smoothly. After the excursion, the chef is responsible for cleaning the kitchen, making sure that all dishware and cooking tools are properly put away for storage until the next excursion. On a regular weekly and monthly basis; the chef will lead their kitchen team through a detailed cleaning task in each kitchen and walk-in area. The chef will have excellent communication and teamwork skills. The chef must be able to strategically delegate work that needs to be done and follow through to ensure that all work is getting done.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
