Shift Hours: M-F 7AM - 3:30PM
General Description / Summary -
Working directly with process engineering to develop CNC programs and layouts to process new or improve existing production parts. Technical consideration must be applied in the following areas: Machine capability, tooling capability, cutting parameters, setup standards, and material properties. Attention to detail is critical when maintaining and updating controlled documents.
Reports to - Engineering Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-
- Obtain and maintain knowledge on all CNC machines, so programs can be written to create effective processes.

Maintain program standards across multiple machine platforms providing uniformity throughout Manufacturing for the ease of understanding and training.

Estimate cycle times to be used in quoting new projects aiding sales for bringing on new work.

Crate and update engineering documents or production parts so they accurately represent the process.

Recommend improvements for tooling, process order, and equipment focused on reducing cost.

Generate G-code with Partmaker following a defined process to create the geometry required per the part drawing.

Blueprint reading and understanding tolerancing including GD&T is a must

Work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong machining knowledge including tooling, speeds, feeds, and material types

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in a team-oriented culture

Organization and punctuality to meet project deadline is a must; self-motivated

Be proficient with CAD and CAM software such as Inventor, AutoCAD, and Partmaker
Educational Level-
-
High School diploma or general education degree (GED), 2-year technical degree is desirable.
Previous Experience-
- 3-5 years' experience directly programming/running CNC equipment

Inventor or other solid modeling software a plus
Physical Demands- Generally works in an office environment but is required to spend time in the plant
