Eagle Hill School, an independent boarding school in Hardwick, Massachusetts, seeks a science teacher to join the faculty for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will hold a degree in a STEM field and be prepared to teach both middle school (eighth grade) and high school science courses. A primary responsibility of this position will be General Science instruction, which is Eagle Hill’s eighth-grade science course. The ability to teach in at least one other major scientific discipline (particularly biology or chemistry) is also highly desired.
Responsibilities:
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to motivate and inspire students in STEM fields.
- Incorporate technology and other resources to enhance student learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continually revise and implement the curriculum to adjust to diverse learners.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues about student progress.
- Engage in the boarding school community and co-curricular programs as well as provide inspirational and innovative education in the classroom setting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a STEM discipline.
- Readiness to teach basic and advanced courses in the science department.
- Support students as they solve problems and think critically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
