Job Description:
Clinical Trials Research Nurse – Oncology (in Office) (FT)
This is an Oncology practice with a dedicated staff and leaders that value each person’s contribution towards a patient-centered approach. Work in a collegial setting where you can really make a difference to patients and their families.
The Clinical Trials Research Nurse facilitates and coordinates the daily clinical trial activities and plays a critical role in the conduct of the study.
- Work with Oncology physicians to identify appropriate patients for actively enrolling clinical trials.
- Must be able to understand pathology reports, laboratory results, imaging reports, current medications and medical history, treatment plans and lines of therapy, staging of cancers, etc.
- Guide a patient’s care from signing the consent form for a clinical trial, duration of treatment/intervention during the trial and follow up once the treatment/intervention is complete.
- Attend pre-site and site visits.
- Maintain Regulatory Binder, Logs and Records
- Adhere to protocol guidelines with regard to Data Collection, Report Completion, Query Resolution, etc.
- Perform specific protocol procedures (performing electrocardiograms, dose calculations)
- Administering trial drugs according to specific protocol guidelines
- Additional responsibilities related to clinical trials as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Work independently as well as part of a research team and with other clinic staff.
- Analytical thinking and resourcefulness.
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum of an RN license in NC.
- Minimum of one year of Research experience, or equivalent education preferred.
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude with patients, team members and other healthcare professionals.
