Medical Assistant
Reports to: Clinic Manager
The Medical Assistant is responsible for working with the cardiology team to provide quality and appropriate patient care with utilization of excellent customer service skills throughout the patient care continuum. Hiring for several positions in Glendale and Scottsdale.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collection and documentation of patient information to include vital signs, chief complaint, review of medications, allergies, health risk screen information and other information.
- Assist with telephone calls and messages; document all calls and actions taken
- Direct patients to team member that resolves issues prior to and after the cardiology appointment.
- Participate in the monitoring of patients with chronic disease and extended care benefits including verification of eligibility and status of service.
- Function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate care.
- Assist provider with coordination/completion of patient care plans.
- Assist co-workers with duties when requested, to include, but not limited to floating to other areas.
- Travel as needed to satellite offices in Scottsdale, Anthem, & Laveen.
Qualifications
- Procedure and surgical experience
- Vein Center experience a plus
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in cardiology
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Able to perform complex medical assistant tasks including test/treatments within the clinical scope.
- BLS certified, or able to attain certification within 30 days of employment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Keenly attentive to detail
- Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
- High level of proficiency with PC based software programs
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
National Medical Assistant Certification
Physical Requirements
Frequent balancing, bending, crouching or stooping.
Manual dexterity and repetitive hand/wrist movements.
Communication and converse in normal conversations with patients, vendors and other staff.
Move, position and transport of patients in excess of 20 lbs.
Move, transport and position department materials in excess of 20 lbs.
Ability to remain in a stationary position or move about.
Vision: Ability to distinguish color, near and far acuity, depth perception and peripheral field of vision
Operate computer and other office productive machinery such as nuclear camera, printers and copy machine.
Frequent use of gloves and/or Personal Protective Equipment.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
