Town & Country Animal Hospital (T&CAH) is seeking a caring individual to provide assistance, care, maintenance and sanitation for animals (dogs and cats) in the kennel/boarding section of our animal hospital. This is a full-time position that includes weekends, evenings and holidays.
These qualifications are required for the Animal Caretaker/Boarding Attendant position, including experience with animals, veterinary knowledge, customer service abilities, and basic computer skills.

Animal Caretaker/Boarding Attendant basic duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining the animal kennel areas and the facility as a whole in a clean and sanitary condition. This includes thorough cleaning and disinfecting and ongoing sanitation throughout the day.
- Must adhere to the cleaning and sanitizing procedures and protocols of animal care, kennel maintenance, sanitation, parasite and disease control, and other animal care practices within the policies and guidelines of the hospital.
- Must maintain a humane and caring attitude towards all the animals.
- Perform other duties as assigned such as bathing and assisting Groomer when needed.
- Must feed all animals in the kennel and follow proper feeding guidelines as directed.
- Lifting and carrying animals weighing up to 50 lbs. may be required. Use of strength or agility in restraining stronger, more active animals weighing up to 150 lbs. may also be necessary.
- Basic computer skills are required and the ability to type 25 words per minute.
- Will be required to assist Veterinarians and support staff with the restraint of patients for medical treatment. Will assist veterinary support staff as needed with maintenance and sanitation of the medical area of the hospital.
- Animal Caretakers must follow proper handling and restraint of animals and practice safety methods at all times.
- Availability/flexibility to work weekends, early evenings and holidays are a required.
