Job Overview:
The Injection Molding Supervisor, in addition to his or her capacity as an Injection Molding Technician, will also be fully responsible for managing the Injection Molding Technicians across all three shifts and for the continuous operation and maintenance of all equipment and machinery used within the department.
The Injection Molding Supervisor is expected to be the impetus behind the improvement of the Injection Molding Department, to design and work with the Injection Molding Technician team to implement a strategy to optimize and improve current production processes for current and new products.
Essential Functions:
· Supervision of Injection Molding Department/Technicians
· Schedule work for all technicians within the Injection Molding department, including shift assignments, Preventative Maintenances (PMA’s), and training for new technicians
· Develop and implement a plan to improve the Injection Molding Department
· Ensure all forms and data records are completed by technicians within the Injection Molding Department
· Assist with cross-training of Material Handler-Injection Molding technicians on routine tasks:
· Mold Changes and Mold Cleaning
· Starting and stopping the injection molding machines
· Starting and stopping the conveyors
· Purging out the injection molding machine
· Changing out and cleaning out the dryer filters
· Maintenance of the chiller system
· Oversee Maintaince of Plastic Injection Molding Machines
· Process products on, troubleshoot and repair all Plastic Injection Molding Machines, Blow Molding and Support equipment
· Reduce Scrap and promote the operational efficiency of the Injection Molding Machines
· Contact machine or equipment Manufacturer to resolve technical problems
· Test new equipment and create new processes and documentation for its operation
· Regulate Production Processes
· Implement new strategies to optimize and improve current production processes for current and new products
· Design innovative solutions to production problems
· Devise new processes and documentation to manufacture new injection-molded products
· Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations
· Adhere to given instructions, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and housekeeping procedures
· Follow the complete Start-up and Shut down (injection molding machines and conveyors) procedure as per Company’s and Machine requirement
· Understand and comply with applicable OSHA safety rules/regulations and Lock-out/Tag-out requirements
Minimum Requirements:
· Technical training in Injection Molding/Processing preferred
· Minimum 3 years experience operating and processing products on Injection Molding machines
· Experience with Husky machines highly desired
· Machine installation experience, basic mechanical trouble shooting and repair, basic machine shop skills
· Must be able to operate material handling equipment

· Ability to read, write and communicate proficiently in English

· Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Duties:
- Set up and operate injection molding machines to produce plastic parts according to specifications
- Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the injection molding process
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Requirements:
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of injection molding processes
- Experience operating injection molding machines or similar equipment
- Ability to use hand tools for assembly and disassembly of molds
- Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and ability to identify defects in finished products
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Experience with plastics blow molding or machining is a plus
- Ability to fabricate or modify molds using press brake machine is a plus
