Summary
The William Funk Laboratory in the Department of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University is searching for a highly motivated and talented postdoc candidate. The position will use protein adductomics to investigate environmental risk factors for breast cancer using a combination of mass spectrometry platforms. Specifically, our lab focuses on globally profiling HSA-Cys34 adducts to identify new environmental risk factors and mechanisms involved in breast cancer etiology. Job Duties
· Isolation of HSA from human blood samples
· Sample preparation using pressure digestion
· Analysis of samples using Orbitrap and QQQ mass spectrometry
· Analyzes data and prepares manuscripts and presentations at local, national, and international conferences
· Contributes as needed to the training of laboratory personnel, research technicians, clinical fellows, and graduate students
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
· Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
· Extensive expertise with LC/MS
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with adductomics, metabolomics or proteomics
· Experience with Orbitrap MS (Elite, Fusion, Ascend)
· Experience with QQQ MS
