Seeking U.S. Military Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse for a Facilities Maintenance Technician position. This role is responsible for supporting facilities tasks and projects at our Atlanta distribution site and will interface with all internal site departments and help manage outside contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely.
Responsibilities:
· The job duties include general site maintenance tasks throughout the facility such Zamboni floor maintenance, industrial cleaning around site infrastructure and equipment areas (fire risers, dock doors, barricades, walkways, equipment).
· Lighting maintenance throughout the facility, including office areas and warehouse, such as high bay light bulb replacement from a 40’ scissor lift.
· Review and completion of site facilities tasks (light plumbing, painting, general “handyman” requests that require safely working with small hand tools and assembly).
· Assist facility team with MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) sourcing and purchasing requests.
· Assists facility manager with scheduling and directing site contractor services and PM’s, including HVAC, generator, air compressor, sprinkler systems, fire risers, fire extinguisher inspections, electrical maintenance, dock door and leveler maintenance, pest control, janitorial, and other supporting site equipment, and services.
· Assist with site contractor service escorts and safety spotting during site projects.
· Review, assignment, and completion of daily facilities tickets through CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
· Follow site lock-out, tag out safety policies during facility team repair and maintenance activities.
· Conduct weekly inspections via facility checklist to identify and correct issues that need repair and service.
· Help monitor site infrastructure systems (building access card management, security cameras, electrical, mechanical, lighting, & plumbing, fire riser, generator, UPS, air compressor). Schedule service provider response and repair as needed.
· Helps support site 5S projects and Gemba walk requests.
· Assist with managing site Covid-19 site protocol and disinfection requirements as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Operational experience in managing facilities maintenance tasks and projects.
· Proficient computer skills with desktop applications such as Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, Teams, CMMS).
· Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
· Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
· Powered Industrial Vehicle experience requiring certification in forklift, scissor lift, single man lifts.
Minimum Requirements:
· High School diploma.
· Previous facilities maintenance experience, preferably in a distribution center or equipment maintenance environment.
· Strong aptitude for task and project management using the required tools needed for facilities maintenance.
· Basic understanding of drawings, layouts, blueprints.
· Great interpersonal and communication skills that lead to positive teamwork with all departments, vendors, and contractors.
· Strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail, and self-management.
· Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
· Positive mental attitude, dependable, dedicated, and strong work ethic.
· Strong drive for continuous improvement and business excellence.
· Able to provide “on-call” coverage outside of normal shift hours if needed to support DC operations.
· Technical vocational training OR bachelor’s degree in related field.
· Facilities/plant management.
· Equipment and building maintenance experience in the field.
· Strong mechanical and hands-on repair experience and aptitude.
Job Environment:
Distribution warehouse environment. Applicant will walk and occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 40lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed.
