JOB TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
DESCRIPTION: The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assisting in the coordination and provision of patient health care services. The Licensed Practical Nurse works as a member of the program nursing team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Completes timely and accurate patient monitoring of vitals and baseline screeners (COWS, CIWA, Falls Assessment, Pain Scale, etc.).
● Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
● Ensure proper storage of all medications and medical supplies in accordance with state regulations.
● Keep program staff informed of health issues as they arise.
● Write daily health care progress notes in patients’ electronic health records.
● Maintain current and complete medical files.
● Assists in patient education regarding substance use diagnosis and treatment.
● Facilitates patient education sessions on medical topics inclusive but not limited to: HIV, Infectious Disease, MAT options, tobacco cessation, harm reduction.
● Participate in routine direct care activities as needed.
● Assist patients and staff with emergency evaluations and treatments.
● Participate in in-service staff trainings and attend weekly staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Requirements
● Nursing Degree from an accredited school.
● Current Massachusetts State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
● CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment.
● One year of nursing experience in a behavioral health setting.
● Satisfactory criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.00 - $42.00 per hour
