What You’ll Do

- Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice.
- Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for leading the installation, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned Security, Intrusion and Video projects which range in size but are primarily smaller but more complex.
- Also delivers assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules with minimal guidance.
- Respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and after-hours service calls on a timely basis; diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems; install projects as necessary.
- Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and Convergint in a timely manner to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Use solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
What You’ll Need
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- Advanced technical skills and experience related to electronic security and video systems.
- Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
- Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
- Proficient construction skills and understanding of system plans.
- Excellent understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support).
- Very familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
- Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- To be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
- Previous construction experience including some level of electrical or a low voltage background.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, data-cable installation and/or building automation.

Requirements:
Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience: 3-5 years, trade school or equivalent experience. Experience installing, servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems, CCTV systems, and intrusion systems.
Preferred Experience: (but not required): Relevant field installation or service experience.
- CCTV experience: Milestone / Genetec
- Access Control experience: AMAG / Lenel / Genetec / Software House - CCURE / S2
- Intrusion experience: DMP / Bosch
