What We’re Seeking

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Process microbiological samples daily and conduct inspections to ensure food safety.
- Conduct environmental monitoring and testing on raw materials and finished products to ensure product safety and quality.
- Assist in creating and maintaining laboratory programs, shelf-life studies, and test procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and company policies.
- Represent the Food Safety and Quality Department professionally when interacting with other departments and regulatory agencies.
- Complete mandatory training sessions and report hazardous conditions to FSQ Supervisor
- Perform all activities in accordance with company safety policies and equipment/machinery used.
- Assume food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities to support SQF requirements, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements.
- Conduct portion control, net weight, MAP, temperature, and scale accuracy at the line according to standard work.
- Maintaining compliance to FSQ standards through RedZone.
- Monitor reprocessing/rework processes and communicate with the FSQ Supervisor throughout the day for any changes or issues that may arise.
- Conduct quality audits of raw materials to ensure they meet quality specifications.
- Update and implement Standard Work and database for auditing raw materials.
- Assist with purchased goods audits and check finished product labels and ingredient laminates.
- Perform daily facility audits, work with FSQ Supervisor to respond to quality issues, and use lab equipment to clean up biohazards.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications)
- 1-3 years of experience in Food Safety & Quality role.
- BS degree in Food Science or a Life Science with an emphasis in microbiology preferred.
- General HACCP certificate required.
- Strong personal computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Network).
- Attention to precision and detail.
- Ability to interact with diverse employees and cultures.
- Problem-solving skills and independent work.
- Experience working with materials related to microbiological analyses.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., remain on feet for up to 10 hours daily.
- Ability to work in cold environments and freezers.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy.
- Handling confidential information.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to handle interruptions to work-in-progress.
- Ability to work overtime, rotating weekends, and early morning hours.
- High motivation and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
