Lake Seminole Square is recruiting for a hospitality focused Resident Program Coordinator to join our amazing team! This position is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to meet the requirements of LCS Lifestyles & Health Services and the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Flexibility of hours - will involve nights and weekends.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:
1. Coordinates and provides recreational and educational activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, off- campus outings, special events and one-on-one visits, as indicated.
2. Produces monthly calendars and other promotional material
3. Interviews and develops the individual resident assessments to accurately provide recreational programs based on individual needs and resident interest.
4. Suggests a program of recreational activities to relatives for use upon discharge of residents; refers relatives to recreation resources and services available in the community.
5. Coordinates Resident Council and family meetings. Arranges special meetings for residents and families to address special interests and provide educational opportunities.
6. Directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
7. Prepares and maintains pertinent reports, studies and schedules in accordance with state and federal regulations.
8. Purchases and inventories supplies and equipment. Inspects recreational equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs and cleanliness.
9. Interprets the goals and objectives of the recreational program to staff, volunteers, relatives and the public.
10. Directs volunteer activities and provides training of volunteers.
11. Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ progress and responses to program.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- A Bachelor degree is preferable. A qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or two years experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting within the last five years is preferred as well.
- Physical requirements/working conditions:
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting for approximately 60% of work day. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to push residents weighing up to 250 lbs. in gerichairs and/or wheelchairs. May be exposed to communicable diseases, HIV and Hepatitis B viruses, industrial and household chemicals, offensive odors and combative behavior.
Many roles in the community may require that we ask about your vaccination status. This could include MMR, chicken pox, hepatitis, flu and COVID-19 vaccine status.
