SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMBAT SYSTEMS OFFICER - 12SX
This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air Force Reserve. The application is for a specific position within the Air Force Reserve.
Position Summary
Our operations depend on the world’s most-advanced airpower. As a Special Operations Combat Officer, it’s your job to ensure our aircrew are working optimally and collaborate with other branches on special operations around the world. You’ll employ a broad yet highly specialized skill set across navigation, fire control and electronic warfare.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review mission tasking, intelligence and weather information.
- Ensure aircraft is preflighted, inspected and equipped for missions.
- Navigate aircraft to accomplish assigned mission objectives.
- Conduct and supervise aircrew training.
- Develop plans and policies, monitor operations and advise commanders.

Qualifications
Select full-time opportunities may be available for fully qualified candidates seeking to affiliate from the active-duty Air Force. Full-time opportunities for this role vary by location. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- An undergraduate degree specializing in physical sciences, mathematics, administration, or management is desirable.
- Knowledge of flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, aircraft operating procedures and mission tactics
- Completion of Air Force Specialized Undergraduate Navigator Training (SUNT) or Undergraduate CSO Training
- Eligibility for Top Secret security clearance
- Completion of eight-week Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell AFB, AL
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
