ASMPT NEXX, a manufacturer of capital equipment in semiconductor industry, is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Billerica.
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving and documenting manufacturing and testing processes for semiconductor process systems and subsystems. Candidate will be collaborating with Manufacturing and Test Engineering teams to improve the manufacturing process, test coverage, and procedures to support existing electromechanical assemblies for a large capital equipment platform.
Key Responsibilities and Duties / Essential Functions:
· Develop, revise, document, validate, and improve the manufacturing and test processes for existing electro-mechanical assemblies and complex capital equipment.
· Creates fixtures, jigs, test stations, calibration/programming/test protocols and work instructions. Provide manufacturing related training to engineers and technicians.
· Document test results as well as recognizing and documenting deviations, anomalies, and failures.
· Generates drawings, schematics and diagrams.
· Generates Bills of Material.
· Provide support to New Product Introduction projects, Continuous Improvement Projects and other projects assigned.
· Work cooperatively with internal departments, contract manufacturers and external suppliers to develop and deliver solutions.
· Process engineering change orders through PLM and ERP systems.
· Assist in NC, CAPA, and field complaint investigation, root cause analysis.
Education and Experience:
· BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience and education level.
· 5+ years in Manufacturing Test or Manufacturing engineering, or equivalent, preferably in semiconductor industry.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Experience with mechanical and electrical drawing generation utilizing AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
· Familiar with common types of sensors, motors, and other automation components and an understanding of how they work, and common failure modes.
· Project management skills including ability to work with outside vendors and working cross functionally with other engineering disciplines.
· Self-motivated and have multitask skills to balance competing priorities.
· Strong team spirit and flexibility working in fast-paced environment.
· Attention to detail and emphasis on excellence in innovation.

This job operates in a hardware laboratory setting and in a class 1000 cleanroom environment.
This job also operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to move from one place to another, stay in one position for periods of time, and communicate with others and exchange information, may give presentations; and may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Expected Hours of work:
Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or as assigned by supervisor. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work.
Travel:
Domestic or international travel may be required, approximately 15 - 30%.
