About HR Recovery Initiative Victim Services:
HR Recovery provides outreach, case management and therapeutic services to victims and survivors of human trafficking in a trauma informed, victim centered manner throughout New Jersey. All operations are conducted within the 3 HR Recovery facilities, in community and stakeholder settings and during scheduled HR Recovery Community Outreaches. The team of dedicated volunteers and staff work together to ensure inclusiveness, cultural humility and compassionate care.
Position Summary
The Housing Navigator (HN) works independently to ensure that all client services either in person or virtual are coordinated in a timely, accurate and courteous manner. The HN will work with consumers to maintain current housing or locate additional/alternate housing in the community to improve their overall well-being and success in independent living.
Essential Job Functions
· Engage consumers to complete monthly housing checklist and review current housing status; provide skills training to consumers to contact landlords and follow up regarding questions, repairs, lease violations, etc.
· Establish and cultivate landlord/property manager relationships to increase access to housing/resources to support consumers, maintain database of available housing resources.
· Manage renters’ insurance records for consumers to ensure compliance with lease and provide consumer protection.
· Educate consumers on housing search and moving process, lease requirements, and housing-related applications and benefits/entitlements; assist consumers in identifying housing priorities in order to promote stability and permanent housing.
· Provide initial and ongoing individualized supports to assist consumers with obtaining and maintaining housing, this includes housing searches, education on lease requirements, etc.
· Participate in systems meeting as requested.
· Provides referrals to appropriate services when necessary to appropriately credentialed providers.
· Coordinates screenings intakes for substance use or other behavioral health related problems as needed with Care Team members including transportation during housing search activities and during leases.
· Provide support to Care Team and their assigned clients with procuring and transporting to temporary sheltering or lodging.
Data Collection
· Manages the Care Team data collection for each assigned client, including the following: NJCFB, HMIS/HUD, DOJ/OVC Reporting Measures. Ensures all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner and available for monthly board meeting and medical billing provider.
Office/Administrative
· Attends team, scheduled supervision sessions, in-service training workshops, and staff meetings according to agency policy.

· Adaptability, cultural sensitivity, and understanding of the mental health and co-occurring population
Minimum Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree with comparable work/field experience-case management.
· Valid Driver’s license
· Experience in/or a working knowledge of the Substance Abuse Treatment field is required.
· Preference given to those with lived experience from commercial or labor exploitation or those with direct work experience with victims of human trafficking or related populations: victims of crime/domestic violence or sexual assault/crisis response.
Travel:
· Travel to outside meetings, trainings and other HR Recovery office locations will be required.
Physical Demands:
· This job can operate in an office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and file cabinets. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb steps, bend, and lift files
· While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and/or humid conditions and community spaces.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
