Qualifications
Under general supervision, must exercise knowledge to perform a variety of job duties relating to the proficient testing and determination of product conformance to specifications, ATP and drawing requirements including but not limited to:
High School diploma or GED, and certificate from a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to verbally communicate effectively
Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form
Analytical: Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data
Ability to read and interpret router instructions and specifications
Properly use measuring tools
Responsibilities
Set up, adjust and operate laboratory equipment and instruments per lab procedures, and specifications required by contract, ensuring proper instrument calibration
Performs metallurgical examinations including, but not limited to, micro-examination
Document results and procedures as required
Evaluate test results and accept or reject material or production lots
Other duties as assigned
In addition to the above, Laboratory Technicians are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices
