Position Title: Psychiatric Case Manager

As part of the Uwill team, the psychiatric case manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of psychiatric case management, provide case management support to the clinical affairs team, and work collaboratively across the organization to deliver support for our college students across the country through ensuring connection to care aligned with student needs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee psychiatric referral connection, psychiatric coordination, and case management functionalities to ensure prompt and reliable connection to psychiatric care.
- Assess, refer, and assist Uwill clinical staff in arranging care for students following a need being flagged at any point in care (mental health, psychiatric, medical, basic needs, etc)
- Conduct intake meetings with Uwill users to assess their needs for care, support, and appropriate referrals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community partners and referral sources for students accessing support through Uwill.
- Maintains clinical records in compliance with ethics, law, and best practices.
- Serve as point of contact for contracted service providers to provide case management and oversee their provision of warm handoffs and after-hours coverage.
- Analyze insurance benefits and financial resources available to identified students for treatment.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice and behavior relevant to the field of training and licensure.
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and partner campus communities.
- Support the Uwill team through offering clinical thought-leadership and collaborating with the clinical affairs team.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop, review, modify and maintain policies, procedures, and practice guidelines
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory)
- Master’s degree in social work.
- 2 years’ experience in the delivery of case management, preferably within a college or educational setting with student populations.
- Experience assessing the college-age population and awareness of mental health issues common to the population is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery case management responsibilities including accessing referral resources within an institution or community.
Special Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on a team, and experience with colleges or universities and community groups is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, and listening communication skills
- Familiarity with the principles of diversity, equity and anti-oppression concepts, especially as they apply to higher education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical-thinking skills, use of sound judgment
- Proven ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of people of various ages and backgrounds student developmental needs, nationality, culture, faith/religion, language difference, ability differences, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression
- Possess the ability to work with a wide range of individuals presenting behavioral health concerns
- Knowledge of DSM-V diagnosis and familiarity with full range of treatment options and mental health service delivery systems
- Awareness of community mental health resources and how to make health plan triage referrals
- Understanding of university disciplinary systems and relevant legal issues
- Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information
- Comfort with technology and ability to learn new software systems
