Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities
· Implements policies and procedures to safely, efficiently and properly dispose of low level radioactive wastes. Implements and supervises trench construction, closure activities, preventative maintenance and maintenance of light and heavy equipment at the disposal site. Supervises the daily operations at the disposal site.
· Supervises and trains radwaste technicians, equipment operators and maintenance technicians to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
· Supervises trench construction, backfilling and closure activities.
· Conducts daily planning meetings with personnel from each operation to prioritize work load and allocate equipment.
· Plans, organizes, assigns and supervises the daily work of subordinates.
· Provides guidance, direction and motivation to subordinates, including establishing performance standards and monitoring individual performance.
· Monitors projects activities to ensure deadlines are met.
· Determines necessary and appropriate equipment needed for specific and day to day operations.
· Interviews candidates for openings and makes hiring recommendations and decisions.
· Establishes specific work goals or standards to be achieved by subordinates.
· Trains, develops and motivates subordinates to improve their present performance and to prepare for higher-level jobs.
· Supervises activities to maintain the disposal site and adjacent EnergySolutions properties in safe and compliant conditions.
· Supervises the implementation of the preventative maintenance procedures for light equipment, heavy equipment and buildings.
· Maintains records in accordance with policies and procedures.
· Assists in writing and revising disposal operations and maintenance procedures.
· Trains and qualifies personnel in heavy equipment operation and other necessary skills.
· Prepares schedules and assigns work to properly trained and qualified personnel.
· Supervises activities to maintain the surface water management in compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Ensures safe disposal site activities.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/Skills
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to issue clear directions to workers
· Knowledge of heavy and light equipment preventative maintenance
· Working knowledge of OSHA construction regulations
· Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Education
· High School diploma or GED some college preferred
Certifications
· None required
Required Experience
· Minimum of 7 years in industrial construction and management
· Experience in heavy equipment operation, maintenance and building maintenance
