Position Summary:
The Plant Superintendent will be responsible for the oversight management of the day-to-day operations of our Bryan facility, focusing on production efficiency, regulatory requirements, safety adherence and product quality.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
· Lead and inspire a team of production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
· Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members meet performance expectations.
Operational Oversight:
· Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
· Monitor and evaluate manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Safety and Compliance:
· Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
· Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Quality Control:
· Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards.
· Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any product quality issues.
Equipment Maintenance:
· Oversee the maintenance of production equipment, coordinating with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
· Schedule and supervise routine equipment inspections and maintenance to identify and address potential issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
· Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and engineering, to optimize overall company performance.
· Communicate effectively with upper management on plant performance and strategic initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field highly desirable, experience in a similar role will be considered.
· Proven experience as a Plant Superintendent or in a similar leadership role within a chemical manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of chemical compounding processes and safety protocols.
· Strong knowledge of pigment grinding processes and safety protocols
· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to make informed databased decisions quickly and efficiently.
· Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental health and safety standards
Valued but not required skills & experience:
· Lean Six Sigma experience
· Experience with SAP ERP system
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
· Standing and sitting for up to 8 hours a day
· Minimal travel required (<10%) to locations across the US
· Personal Protective Equipment may be required during the work shift when in production areas. This includes steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety glasses with side shields.
· Work on-site during normal business hours
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
