Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring that all molds and equipment are maintained appropriately and run efficiently, and parts are made to quality standards set forth by the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct work, comply with and enforce all company, local, state, and federal Safety and Health Rules
· Diagnose and correct problems with the molding processes, including molds, set ups, automation, etc.
· Recommend tooling changes that will improve the process capability.
· Monitor and adjust molding parameters to ensure parts are produced according to recorded process and quality level.
· Perform minor record keeping tasks. This includes, but may not be limited to, recording cavitation levels, downtime reasons, machine logs, process adjustment notations Event Log, process verification sheets, etc.
· Do regular TPM sheets for injection molding machines.
· Strive to be a team player of our organization, displaying a cooperative and positive attitude towards our Company, including its policies, procedures, and employees.
· Trouble shoot machine, thermolator, dryer or process issues relating to manufacturing process.
· Fill out maintenance work orders for issues with machine, thermolator or dryer issues that they cannot resolve.
· Follow escalation procedure for issues that they cannot resolve.
· Perform Mold changes and machine start-ups as needed.
· Make sure operators are at their scheduled machine.
· See that operators are properly trained and have the tools needed to complete their tasks.
· Verify Production sheets are filled out correctly and match MES system.
· Relieve operators for break if needed.
· Spot check parts hourly to ensure quality parts are being produced.
· Spot check parts to make sure they are labeled correctly and in the correct location.
· Count, Tote and label parts that run in the automatic machines.
· Any other duties as deemed necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required
- Verifiable manufacturing and / or plastic injection mold experience; preferably in an automotive manufacturing setting
- Experience using LEAN, Kaizen, 5S, robotics a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of plastic injection molding
- Knowledge of scientific molding/RJG, desired
- Technical and Quality Certifications are a plus.
- Good knowledge of Program standards, tools and methods
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Good oral and written skills in order to develop proper quality documentation
