Job Summary
Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Read and create blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Write technical proposals for project opportunities and assist in the submission process.
- Prepare 3-D models and assemblies in CREO, SolidWorks, or other CAD programs.
- Operate FEA and 3D CAD systems.
Education:
Tasks:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement procedures, resolve malfunctions, or provide technical information.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements.
- Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems or needs.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, or repair to ensure equipment functions according to specifications.
- Conduct research to test or analyze feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment or systems.
- Recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions.
- Develop, coordinate, or monitor production, including manufacturing methods and product design.
- Design test control apparatus or equipment and develop procedures for testing products.
- Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.
- Develop or test models of alternate designs to assess feasibility, sustainability, or the necessity of modification.
- Specify system components or direct product modifications to ensure conformance with design specifications and regulations.
- Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using drafting tools or software.
- Estimate costs or submit bids for engineering, construction, or extraction projects.
