The licensed veterinary technician is the veterinarian’s primary medical support. They begin the examination procedure and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis and treatment phases, including surgery. They aid the veterinarians in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of technical work and administrative detail. They have a very significant role in communicating with and education clients about their pets. If you are ambitious and have good technical skills and client service skills, we want you on our team!
Requirements: Minimum 1 year+ prior experience in veterinary technician or assistant.
Wages based on experience.
Summary of job duties:
- Assessing patients; record observations legibly and with proper grammar/terminology in computer prior to the veterinarians exam
- Skilled at taking patient history & client education
- Restraining pets
- Draw blood
- Performing all lab test
- Taking radiographs
- In house lab: ear cytology, urine analysis, fecal samples, bloodwork
- Assist the veterinarian in medical, surgical and dental procedures; prepares patients for surgery; administers anesthesia; monitors patients during surgery and recovery; administers fluids.
- Ultrasound assistance
- Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility, does not hesitate to clean or organize as part of a normal job duty.
- Legibly keeps accurate medical records in accordance hospital policy
- Assist the receptionist when needed
Schedule:
- 10 hour shifts
- 8 hour shifts
- 6 hour shifts
- Monday-Friday
- Day off during week
- Rotate Saturday shifts
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
