Job Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance/Utility Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be under the direction of the City Council, is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs of water, sewer, electric, streets, parks, equipment/facilities involved. Responsible for DANR & utility code requirements in all the below areas. This is a vital role that supports the overall functionality of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Must maintain and submit all records accordingly as required by the SD DANR pertaining to the water distribution and wastewater facilities.
- Responsible for submitting all water/wastewater samples required by the SD DANR.
- Must keep accurate records pertaining to pesticide application according to the regulations of the SD Dept. of Ag.
- Direct and supervise duties of the maintenance/utility assistant
- Respond to power outages or problems immediately, analyze problem, contact necessary personnel to resolve issue as prompt as possible.
- Perform duties to maintain city owned properties, parks, ball-fields, lagoon, street right of ways, ditches etc. (mowing, trimming, spraying etc.)
- Perform maintenance/service/repair on city utility systems (water, sewer and electric) and maintain accurate records accordingly when required.
- Perform duties to maintain city streets and alleys including snow removal, asphalt repair, gravel repair, etc.
- Perform maintenance/service/repair on all city equipment as needed
- Strong attention to detail and safety protocol
- Read utility meters monthly.
- Locate utilities as required for SD One-Call.
- Perform regular janitorial duties in all city buildings, offices and restrooms etc.
- Deliver customer disconnect notices and disconnect utilities when required.
- Install water and electric meters as needed.
- Will be required to be available for emergency issues after working hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay = DOE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
