The mission of Jesuit Refugee Service/USA (JRS/USA) is to accompany, serve, and advocate for refugees and forcibly displaced persons. Essential Duty #1: Portfolio Management: 60%
· Work closely with the President and Senior Management Team on strategic planning and assesses and identifies opportunities to expand government funding and strengthen and expand domestic programming.
· Develop proposals for provision of JRS/USA activities and manage implementation of proposals including by managing and hiring staff, coordinating with federal, state and local officials, and other relevant entities.
· Support the development of policies, standards, procedures, and/or guidelines governing the development and implementation of research and data collection and presentation in support of JRS programs.
· Measure impact: oversee program-based datasets and resources to successfully analyze and recommend improvements to program outputs, outcomes and impacts.
· Project Reporting: with the team, following monitoring and evaluation, prepare periodic progress and final project reports.
· In collaboration with the advocacy team, draft relevant materials, develop evidence and research including data insights to inform the development of actionable policy recommendations in the form of reports, policy memos, and/or briefs.
· Manage existing domestic programs, including Caminar Contigo and a team of at least 4 persons. Caminar Contigo is a binational, cross-border program that provides legal and mental health and psychosocial support to forcibly displaced families and asylum seekers in the Cd. Juarez/El Paso region at the US-Mexico border.
Essential Duty #2 Thought Leadership 20%
· Identify, oversee, and recommend topical areas for research agenda, program evaluations and/or information dissemination activities.
· Support analysis of data on migration, beneficiary populations and populations of concern, including historical, current, and emerging trends as well as how these trends are linked at the international, regional, national, state, and local levels.
· Conduct comparative analysis to identify areas of JRS excellence and challenges.
· Represent JRS/USA at public events including academic panels, migration related events and in seminars, speaking events and training sessions in coordination with Director of Marketing & Communications.
Essential Duty #3: Cultivate and Deepen Migration Networks Communication and Opportunities for Partnership: 20%
· Coordinate with stakeholders to identify programmatic and policy gaps and opportunities for collaboration and coordination.
· Coordinate with stakeholders to identify programmatic and policy gaps and opportunities for collaboration and coordination in consultation with the Advocacy Team. Within the United States, deepen relationships and networks with government officials, civil society and Catholic entities including Archdiocesan and Diocesan officials.
· Expand relationships with Catholic religious congregations in support of JRS refugee programs.
· Working with other experts, map existing migration networks and their effectiveness.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree required. MPA, Masters, and/or PhD preferred.
· At least ten years of policy and/or operational experience at various levels and leading programmatic teams.
· Experience in nonprofit financial management and budgeting.
· Experience with grant writing and proposals and overseeing or managing implementation of grants and reporting to funders.
· Experience with managing direct services provision.
· Experience in managing a hybrid team.
· Familiarity with Catholic organizations is very helpful but not required.
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills.
· Ability to develop and cultivate positive relationships.
· Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce) and Intacct strongly preferred.
· Experience with Microsoft suite.
Work schedule: Two days in Washington DC office and three days remote.
Salary Range: $154,000 - $192,000
