As a transportation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on projects for a variety of local and state agencies. Perform design tasks utilizing your experience in roadway design, drainage design, and utility design. Your demonstrated professionalism will come into play as you cultivate and nurture client relationships and build the Egis North America brand by participating in state and regional associations. Use your strength as a communicator to assist with proposals and direct marketing efforts.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for various aspects of roadway design projects from conceptual phase to final design
- Coordinate and distribute discipline-specific work with team to adhere to project requirements, budget, and schedule
- Uses technical level expertise in furtherance of project demands
- Work with counterparts from other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects
- Independently develop project quantities and cost estimates
- Assist in direct marketing efforts, including proposal writing, trade show/conference attendance
- Satisfy client requirements
- Maintain industry recognition through prominence in state and regional professional associations
- Promote and maintain the presence and image of Egis in the marketplace
- Work within a team to develop and design roadway projects for state and local clients. Duties will require proficiency in roadway design as well as the ability to lead and train subordinate staff.
- Work within a team environment to ensure a high-quality level of work is being produced. Develop and review plans and computations to ensure quality and accuracy of the design work and construction plans.
- Position is encouraged to develop time saving design processes through innovation which would be utilized by other engineers within the department.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 6+ years of experience in MDOT roadway design or local road design
- Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads
- Pavement design experience is a plus
- Project management experience is a plus
- Michigan PE or the ability to obtain it within 6 months
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
