Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership abilities and excellent clinical knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing staff
- Supervise and coordinate patient care activities
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatment
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records
- Adhere to established medical protocols and standards
- Assist with procedures such as gastric lavage, ophthalmology exams, and other specialized treatments
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of medical documentation practices and standards
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and internal medicine
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems such as Epic or Athenahealth
- Ability to assess patient conditions and respond appropriately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership abilities with the ability to make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in behavioral health is preferred but not required
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in [state]
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required
