We are seeking a receptionist to manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks at our busy, independently owned clinic. As a receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our busy two-doctor practice. To be successful as a receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position, as candidates must be able to remain professional and courteous towards clients and staff during slow and busy times. Computer skills are essential and knowledge of the Cornerstone Veterinary computer system is a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office, although we are currently operating via curbside service due to COVID-19 considerations
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/e-mail
- Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries
- Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
- Update calendars and schedule appointments
- Checking in and out of appointments and taking payments
- Following up with clients
- Taking refill requests and filling medications
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing
- May be asked to assist with animals.
- Participate in daily cleaning activities.
- Veterinary office experience preferred, but not required.
- Some Saturdays are required.
