Responsibilities:
- Organize bids for outsourced civil/structural services.
- Manage civil subcontractors and coordinate with internal electrical team for seamless multidiscipline deliverables.
- Review and provide feedback on civil subcontractor designs.
- Preliminary site evaluation including desktop review of ArcGIS/Topography/Wetlands.
- Develop Permit Matrixes identifying relevant AHJ approvals necessary.
- Create civil site plans for utility-scale solar projects using AutoCad Civil 3D.
- Opportunity to develop internal team and grow the civil department.
- Develop civil design standards and specifications.
- SWPP/Hydrology/Pile Design
- Lead continuous improvements of design standards, specifications, and design process.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with individual state requirements and codes.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Civil Engineering Degree from ABET Accredited Program
- Minimum of 5 years civil engineering experience in solar field
- Professional Engineering license in one or more states.
- Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Wide knowledge of relevant regulations and national/international standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively lead and manage subcontractors.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Initiative, innovative and committed to technical excellence as well as enthusiastic and driven toward long-term success.
- Detail oriented and thorough, with excellent planning, process, and project management skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and through email to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong work ethic with self-motivated mentality
Preferred:
- Proficient in Storm Water Management calculations
- Proficient with Hydraulic Modeling software such as PC-SWMM or HEC-RAS.
- Experienced in Geotechnical investigation requirements.
- Knowledge of structural foundation design
