Operate manual lathes and mills to perform machining operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications. Edit programs, maintain equipment, and uphold workplace safety standards in a team-oriented environment.
Principal Activities:
- Review work order requirements and drawings, gather necessary fixtures and tools.
- Set up and operate manual lathes/mills, adjusting settings as needed to meet production goals.
- Perform various machining operations, including single point threading and complex profiles tracing.
- Edit programs, speeds, and feeds to optimize machining processes.
- Utilize manual tools for deburring and degreasing.
- Operate drill presses, punch presses, and other secondary equipment.
- Ensure precision and quality by checking dimensions and tolerances.
- Adapt machine setups for non-standard tasks.
- Train entry-level machinists and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in setting up and operating manual machines.
- Ability to interpret drawings and blueprints.
- Competent in using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
- Basic computer skills for data input.
- Familiarity with secondary equipment like drill presses and saws.
- Knowledgeable in lathe and/or mill operations.
- Understanding of machining techniques to achieve tight tolerances.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs and adhering to EHS guidelines.
- Flexibility in shift scheduling and willingness to work overtime.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in manual machining.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
