Purpose:
- Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and in accordance with acceptable GAAP, the Accountant will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Finance Department. The Accountant will supervise the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Receipts, Bank Deposits, and Payroll Reconciliation functions. This position will operationalize revised financial policies updating and developing others as necessary. This position will conduct internal audits of current processes used to manage our account receivables and reconciliation between EHS and the general ledger. This position supervises staff responsible for medical billing and patient receivables.
PART I: ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTION AND DUTIES
- Manage the patient receivables and account management process
- Oversee the process of completion of all encounters as needed to insure all possible accounts are billed and collection efforts are instituted.
- Insure checks and balances are maintained insuring monies are properly managed and handled
- Supervises the medical billing and patient receivables staff
- Coordinate with Human Resources to provide appropriate training for finance staff
- Provide financial reports required by funding resources
- Process vendor invoices for payments
- Maintain vendor directory in the accounting systems
- Supervise processing of weekly cash deposits and maintain daily cash / check log
- Resolve vendor’s outstanding balances on a timely basis

PART III: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree in Business Preferred or Five (5) Years of experience in Relevant Fields.
- Five years of professional accounting experience including one year in a health care organization.
