Job Summary:
Serves as a counselor, guide, coach, or tutor in the first 6 weeks of a new caregiver’s employment. Teaches assigned mentees to do their job well, and helps reduce mentee’s anxiety about their job, thereby reducing staff turnover, increasing staff morale, and contributing to the highest possible quality of service. This position serves as a back up to any last-minute call outs that cannot be covered by caregiving staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Can teach and fill in for orientation classes as needed.
- Supports and teaches new Caregivers through their first 6 weeks of employment.
- Listens to mentees’ questions and concerns and responds in a timely manner or
relays concerns to Office manager or Client Care Coordinator for resolution.
- Logs all meetings and sends schedule to Office Manager.
- Completes evaluation form for each visit and follows up with a summary to the caregiver giving positive feedback along with items of attention.
- Is a role model and sets a good example.
- Maintains and encourages a positive work atmosphere.
- Maintains a punctual and dependable work record.
- Shows enthusiasm for and interest in work.
- Demonstrates the ability to reach sound conclusions.
- Refers new Caregivers to receive more hands-on training if need be.
- Effectively interacts with others to accomplish tasks.
- Adapts to changing situations.
- Considers the viewpoints of others.
- Handles difficult situations in a tactful manner.
- Can efficiently and effectively use computers. IPad’s or phones to look up care plans, addresses and add documentation to files.
- Requires minimal supervision and often finds extra work without direction.
- Is willing to fill in as needed on moment’s notice with any type of last-minute emergency due to lack of coverage or help problem solving an urgent issue.
- Must be willing to work a variety of days and hours to accommodate the visits when new caregiving staff are working. This includes evenings and weekends are dictated by the new caregivers schedules.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
