JOB TITLE: Cook/Dietary Supervisor
JOB CODE:
FUNCTION: Works with other cooks performing tasks relating to food preparation, service, and cleaning.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have at least one year experience in cooking, a basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation; experience using industrial kitchen equipment and utensils. Prior kitchen supervisory experience is helpful
- Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, in line with our established policies and procedures
- Must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally and must be a team player who works well with others.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated experience in hot and cold food and dessert preparation for large groups is preferred. Ability to work in a team environment, work flexible shifts and follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Must enjoy working with the seniors and able to accept constructive criticism. Ability to interact with residents who are highly susceptible to common illness without posing additional health risks and must maintain good personal hygiene.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- The following equipment is used including, but not limited to: electric slicer, mixer, oven, stove, grill, dishwasher, fryer, toaster, coffee maker and various other kitchen utensils and appliances, including knives.
PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, carry, stand for extended periods of time, bend, reach, finger, grasp, and feel.
- Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. May be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) and moving mechanical parts.
- All duties and responsibilities listed are essential job functions. Marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties have been excluded.
- Employees will be required to perform any other job related duties requested by their manager.
