What Are We Looking For?
Defy is looking for a Medical Assistant to add to our growing team. The Medical Assistant Team plays a pivotal role in the patient care plan. Through patience, integrity, communication, and understanding a Medical Assistant will guide our patients to feeling better and improving their lives.
A Medical Assistant at Defy is outgoing and enjoys helping people. They can adapt and learn new computer programs quickly. Multitasking, communication, and critical thinking are pillars for a Medical Assistant. Patient care is the key element to being successful in this role.
Responsibilities

Blood Draws and record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history information into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Phone triage patients throughout the country via telemedicine
- Handle high volume phone traffic
- Communicating with providers
- Maintain client and employee privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Administer injections when necessary
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients and providing follow up education
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed
- Check voicemails and return customer calls
- Maintain email etiquette and communication with patients, vendors and co-workers daily
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of working areas, supplies, and equipment
- Provide quality customer service and using effective communication
- Mail out all supplement and supply orders from this office via USPS
- Covering front desk task when needed
***ALL TRAINING IS DONE IN OUR TAMPA OFFICE***
Qualifications
-
Able to perform Blood Draws and administer Injections
- 2 + years experience in healthcare setting preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant is a plus but not required
- Effective communication
Shifts
- Monday - Friday 9:00am-5:30pm
Compensation: $18/hour
