Position Summary
This position is an entry-level position which combines technical skills, customer service, and analytical problem-solving to provide internal support to the entire sales division as well as direct sales support to related subsidiary (export) customers as well as house accounts in an inside sales capacity.
Essential Job Functions

Manage assigned subsidiary (export) and house accounts’ sales activities, ensuring customer satisfaction and business continuity.

Work with related sales divisions and division managers to support and respond to daily requests for new quotations.

Calculate pricing formulas, and file appropriate forms for customers with quarterly formula price agreements in place. Work with sales representatives in supporting their understanding and explanation of these pricing details to customers.

Analyze product profitability and propose actions for current customers.

Support the product development team in formulation costing and related considerations in product development and product management.

Maintain current pricing for domestic customers in SAP.

Complying with government regulations, maintain standard price lists and pricing logs, analyze costs and profit while recommending adjustments, consulting with internal and outside resources as needed.

Prepare some regular reports and check other regular reports for accuracy.

Support the regular maintenance of sales data and sales reporting.

Analyze and evaluate existing customer price formulas and price formulas for new bid proposals against actual product cost component trends and expected cost trends going forward.

Maintain excel files to track publicly posted base oil and crude oil indices.

Respond to various sales requests for pricing and relevant pricing support information and needs.
Education
BS/BA; Bachelor’s degree preferred (chemical engineering, chemistry, or related)
Experience
2 years or less in sales, product technical support, or analytics in the chemical, lubricant, or related industry.
Job Knowledge/Special Skills/Abilities

Previous experience in technical sales, automotive, chemical or oil and lubricants.

Extensive use of Microsoft Excel will be required. Additional training will be provided, but a solid aptitude is necessary.

Microsoft Access or SQL and Power Point experience also preferred.

Solid written & verbal communication skills. Able to communicate clearly and concisely to internal and external shareholders. Able to develop and maintain good customer relationships.
