EGA Associates:
EGA is a professional consulting and staff augmentation firm specializing in the recruitment and onboarding of healthcare providers for rewarding careers within a nationwide network of federal and commercial healthcare facilities.
Reasons to partner with EGA:
- Any state license - no need to go through the hassle of registering for a new state license, most facilities will accept any active state license.
- Long term assignments - most federal agencies establish contracts from 1-5 years, providing stability and opportunities to become a permanent employee.
- Flexible work schedules - provides a quality of life factor that is difficult to find in the commercial healthcare setting.
- Credentialing support - our team is knowledgeable of the unique credentialing processes and dedicated to supporting you throughout the journey, making onboarding as seamless and painless as possible.
Duties:
- Patient Monitoring: Nurses in MedSurgTele units are responsible for continuously monitoring patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms (via telemetry), and overall clinical status. They must be vigilant for any signs of deterioration or changes in condition.
- Medication Administration: Administering medications as prescribed by physicians and monitoring their effects on patients. This includes intravenous medications, oral medications, and medications delivered via other routes.
- Patient Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments of patients upon admission, during shifts, and upon discharge or transfer. This includes physical assessments, neurological checks, and assessments of pain levels.
- Wound Care: Managing and dressing wounds according to the treatment plan established by the healthcare team. This can involve basic wound care for surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, or other skin conditions.
- Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions. This is crucial for promoting patient understanding and compliance with care plans.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Communicating effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers regarding changes in patient status, test results, and treatment plans.
- Documentation: Accurately documenting all patient care activities, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR). This documentation is essential for continuity of care and legal purposes.
