Job purpose
To provide customer coordination services to both overseas agents and end customer here in the USA for Consolidation & FCL USA inbound shipments.
Primary overall position is to receive pre-advise data and ISF filings for new bookings from overseas agent partners. Open and update new files in industry software. Pass to File internal Customs Brokerage division for clearance, handover to dispatch.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review agent sent documentations. Contact overseas agent or Consignee for missing details. Send reminder emails to consignee
- Hand over completed documents to customs broker for entry filing into the USA..
- Check Shipment Availability with Carrier. Arrange payment to carrier for all COLLECT shipment freight costs.
- Freight Release - Check with Ocean Line Carrier and Airlines via On-Line portals or via telephone.
- Create shipment collection order for drayage company to collect shipment.
- Check per diem if any and calculate split charges for consolidation containers per consignee volume.
Qualifications
- Basic school education
- 2 years previous imports experience in logistics
- Great computer skills with experience with industry software data entry
- Knowledge of Master & House Bill of Ladings
- Ability to fully understand how import files are handled, processed and maintained.
- Person must be calm, collective, be able to discuss with fellow colleagues file procedures and be able to relate any issues to department management.
Working conditions
The position is Remote Home Based but also can be at any of our office locations in Los Angeles. San Francisco, Houston or Elizabeth, NJ.
