DESCRIPTION:
Acts as an assistant to the Restaurant Manager as well as a Head Server. Covering shifts and helping out on busier nights with management duties. Assistant Manager should be knowledgeable about the food and beverages on the menu so they can explain dishes to both guests and staff as well as clarify any concerns about allergies or styles of food preparation. A qualified Head Server should be friendly, courteous, and fast. Other requirements include good communication skills, teamwork, cleanliness, and ability to stand and walk for extended periods (10+ hours).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting as Manager
- Assisting in daily FOH operations for a restaurant
- Understanding Front of House service
- Promoting positive and professional company morale
- Customer, community, vendor and employee relations
- Handle customer concerns and complaints, relaying feedback to the kitchen.
- Hold daily pre-service meetings.
- Effectively manage staff and maintain a professional atmosphere.
- Maintain dining room cleanliness and organization.
· Work closely with staff ensuring communication flows effectively
As a Head Server
· Training new staff
· Assisting manager with handling guest related issues and helping staff when needed
· Acknowledge guest opportunities and offer options
· Maintain an open line of communication with Managers and kitchen
· Regular attendance and on-time to all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job
· Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Multifaceted restaurant service experience
· Able to communicate with and lead a diverse staff
· Able to work holidays and weekends
· Responsible, hardworking and adept at dealing with fast paced work environment
· In-depth knowledge of alcohol and different types of cuisines preferred
· Highly developed interpersonal skills
· Basic bookkeeping knowledge
· Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems
· The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 50 pounds at a time
· Food Handlers Permit + Alcoholic Beverage Handlers Permit
