Hammer and Nails Grooming Shop for Guys is looking for a Shop Manager to join our team. The Shop Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the shop runs smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be able to multitask and prioritize duties while maintaining a positive attitude. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and can provide a high level of customer service.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Has necessary Ohio Cos./Barber License.
- 1 year of retail experience in beauty or other related fields required.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have flexible working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Duties:
- Maintaining cleanliness of salon & staff by following policies and procedures.
- Scheduling appointments for clients & managing bookings on website.
- Assisting clients with their questions and providing advice on products.
- Answering phones in a fast paced environment.
- Stocking inventory on a monthly basis.
Additional Duties:
Qualifications:
- Ability to work a minimum of 35 hours per week on a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional overtime may be required.
- Ability to work in a dynamic shop environment. Good time management and the ability to multi-task.
- Strong leadership qualities; motivated and respectful, with a demonstrated ability to supervise and coach.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and clients.
- Ability to read, digest and analyze various reports.
- Mathematical skills to accurately compute and complete required functions.
- Basic Computer knowledge.
Essential Functions:
Market and grow the business.
- Meet or exceed minimum productivity requirements as established by the company.
- Promote and sell services and products, including recommending and selling additional services and/or retail products which will enhance and improve the customer’s image and contribute to the customer’s satisfaction with services performed.
- Develop and maintain local business relationships.
- Maintain professional appearance and a positive attitude.
Provide exceptional customer service:
- Understand the needs of customers; handle and resolve customer service issues to maintain customer loyalty
- Communicate to the customer a clear understanding of the pricing. Display a sound understanding of all available services.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with peers, shop and Franchisor personnel, as well as landlords, property managers, licensors, and beauty schools.
Manage and control expenses:
- Create weekly shop schedules and achieve payroll goals.
- Correctly charge for services rendered and products purchased.
- Effectively control shop operating costs such as supply and retail inventory and maintenance costs.
- Safeguard company assets. Audit shop to ensure employees charge correctly for services and products.
Lead and develop a team.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and retain staff.
- Motivate the team creating a positive work environment.
- Train and provide guidance to employees on the use of all business operating systems.
- Set clear goals and objectives for team, measure performance and provide guidance to the team through regular communications to meet those goals.
- Document important conversations, incidents and goals.
- Approve time off and schedule employees.
- Discipline and terminate staff when appropriate with guidance from your human resources company.
Complete required administrative tasks:
- Enforce and promote all corporate policies and procedures.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are adhered to and bank deposits are made regularly.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the shop and that the shop complies with all applicable state and local sanitation rules.
- Perform a variety of tasks related to shop operations, including but not limited to: answering telephones, stocking shelves, taking inventory counts, and other duties as assigned.
- Ensure information in POS system is correct and up to date, including employee and new hire information.
- Ensure all staff licenses are current, valid and posted.
- Ensure all items required by state and federal law are posted in shop as directed by company. Maintain and uphold safety standards by identifying and correcting conditions that affect shop safety.
- Timely submission of all company required paperwork.
- Ensure shop is open for all posted hours covering any employee’s shifts, if necessary and as applicable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,500.00 - $60,000.00 per year
