The Arcanum Group (TAG) is seeking experienced professionals to join our PMO Team in Gaithersburg, MD. We have multiple openings for Project Managers, Quality Control Managers/Construction Inspectors, Schedulers, Cost Estimators, and Senior Engineers. These roles are critical to ensuring the success of various construction projects by providing leadership, technical expertise, and meticulous oversight.
Project Manager (PM)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and client requirements.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring adherence.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among clients, team members, and contractors.
- Monitor project progress and performance, addressing issues or obstacles promptly.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Conduct regular meetings and progress reports with clients and internal teams.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of project documentation, including reports, permits, and approvals.
Experience/Education:
- Minimum of 10+ years managing engineering projects of all sizes and complexity.
- Knowledge of general construction and mechanical/electrical systems.
- BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture from an ABET-accredited institution.
Quality Control Manager (QM) / Construction Inspector (CI)
Responsibilities:
- Specialize in mechanical and electrical systems, conducting inspections and monitoring trades.
- Interpret plans and specifications to understand project scope.
- Monitor construction progress, prepare inspection reports, and create final punch lists.
- Oversee safety plans, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Experience/Education:
- 10+ years in general construction and mechanical/electrical construction techniques.
- Knowledge of laboratory or research operations and associated mechanical/electrical systems.
- Completion of an OSHA 30-hour course or equivalent safety training.
- BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture from an ABET-accredited institution, or 5+ years of trade experience with continued education.
Scheduler
Responsibilities:
- Develop an Integrated Master Schedule incorporating key dates and events.
- Track project milestones, major inspections, and move coordination tasks.
- Provide short-term (2-4 week) and long-term (3-month) look-ahead schedules.
- Identify and analyze out-of-sequence work and its impact on the critical path.
- Review and report trends and assist the COR in time impact analysis.
Experience/Education:
- 8+ years of experience in creating and reviewing construction project schedules.
- Technical expertise in engineering and architecture programs.
- BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
- Proficiency in scheduling tools and software.
Cost Estimator (CE)
Responsibilities:
- Generate cost estimates for evaluating scope changes.
- Validate contractor-prepared cost estimates.
- Coordinate with the PM and QCM to ensure estimates reflect actual field conditions.
- Support engineering and architecture programs, including facilities design and construction.
Experience/Education:
- 8+ years in creating and reviewing construction project estimates.
- Technical experience supporting engineering and architecture programs.
- BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
- Proficiency in cost estimating tools and software.
Senior Engineer (SE)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support engineering studies, design reviews, and analysis.
- Evaluate alternatives for risks, costs, and schedule issues.
- Provide technical expertise for project/program work.
- Analyze problems efficiently and develop viable solutions within schedule and budget.
- Plan and coordinate project management activities.
Experience/Education:
- Minimum 12 years overseeing engineering projects, including facility design and construction.
- Experience supervising staff engineers and technicians.
- BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
