It is a full-time position and a great opportunity for any health science or future medical student in their transition year to develop clinical skills and history taking knowledge that can shine on your resume. You will gain hands-on experience with blood-draws, EKGs, injections, etc. Our office promotes a positive, collaborative and friendly environment. The doctor is affiliated with Ican School of Medicine at Mt Sinai, Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell, Columbia University and NYU. Medical Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures
- Ensuring site lab compliance with Department of Health (DOH) Regulations
- Perform patient intake
- Collecting and entering information into an electronic medical record.
- Maintains patient's medical chart utilizing an EMR
- Take vitals and patient history
- Performs EKG, venipunctures and other testing
- Drawing, preparing, packaging, and tracking of patient laboratory tests
- Performing injections
- Keeps all service areas orderly and clean e.g. treatment exam and utility rooms
- Reinforces health teaching to patients/families
- Handling prescription refills and medications
- Checking and responding to emails, faxing documents, completing patient charts
- Following up on test results
- Administrative duties related to patient care as needed
Qualifications:
A candidate's qualifications will include:
- High School or GED required
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program, with Certified (CM) or advanced degree
Medical Assistant or CRN credential preferred and/or phlebotomy and EKG certifications
- Medical Assistant or CRN certificate of completion with at least 2 to 3 years in an office or hospital or clinical environment experience preferred
- Phlebotomy experience
- Record chart entries via EMR /Able to use EMR software
- Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products, Adobe
- Current CPR certification
- Happy and positive thinking, able to project this attitude around others
- Excellent communication and bedside manner
- Detailed oriented
- Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic Knowledge of Spanish is Required

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
