Delta Gear and Delta Research are an AS9100 and ISO9001 registered facility which manufactures precision gears, shafts, splines, carriers, housings, gages, master gears & other geared components and gearbox assemblies. In addition, we provide contract gear and CMM inspection services. We are also a NADCAP approved non-destructive testing facility and currently provide Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Nital Etch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, and facility layout.
- Supports the purchase and installation of new equipment.
- Directs the development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Work with operators, maintenance and Operations personnel to implement and improve ideas.
- Use and train on Lean and other manufacturing tools to the operations team.
- Provides technical support for specific operations.
- Assist with the creation of Operator Standardized Work and Quality Procedures.
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Support Capital Projects with requests, research, data.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Automotive and or Manufacturing industry preferred.
- 3 -5 years’ experience with a 3D or 2D CAD package.
- Experience with job routings and processing documents, including time studies.
- Lean manufacturing experience required.
- The ability to prioritize various tasks, communicate technical information through written and verbal means, and solve complex engineering problems through a variety of resources.
