POSITION SUMMARY
The EmPower marketing organization is going through an unprecedented transformation to build an enduring and sustainable brand, while being a growth driver for the company. The Digital Marketing Specialist will support prospecting and customer engagement activities focused on promoting the EmPower Solar brand and reaching qualified new clients. The Digital Marketing Specialist will report to the Marketing Manager and CMO and work collaboratively with other departments.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will help ensure that EmPower Solar remains the regional leader in our category while helping marketing become a predictable growth engine for the company.
DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
The Digital Marketing Specialist will support the marketing department's initiatives through planning, execution, and tracking of marketing programs while assisting the CMO and Marketing Manager in the execution of cross-departmental marketing efforts and administrative tasks.
- Lead generation: develop creative strategies and ideas to meet minimum quantity of leads monthly to support sales channels; meet target conversion rates for appointments and sales.
- Campaign management: originate campaign concepts for target clients, communicating objectives, timelines, and deliverables; execute all aspects including launch, monitoring, reporting, and closeout; provide support for campaigns managed by external partners.
- Paid ad management: plan and create paid search ad campaigns; manage campaign goals, keyword lists, ad copy, bidding strategies, budgets, and conversion tracking; continuously monitor to optimize campaign performance.
- Content development: propose and author original website and blog content relevant to our audience and supportive of SEO partner efforts; assist in the creation and management of additional marketing materials including landing pages, emails, presentations, sales collateral, video scripts, thought leadership pieces, etc.
- Marketing automation: use inbound marketing platform to develop email nurture campaigns to prospects and leads, and existing customers to provide continued value and additional services
- Event management: plan and manage EmPower Solar’s presence at events including exhibitions, seminars, outreach and education programs, conferences, and hospitality events, etc. as well as strategize and execute post-event follow up.
- Support: assist with the tactical execution of cross-departmental marketing efforts across sales, partnerships/affiliate marketing, customer experience, service, etc.
- Reporting: track and analyze KPIs to generate insightful reports; present progress and performance to marketing leadership and other stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS + SKILLS
Candidate should be dependable, creative, and a plan-driven problem solver. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic with the ability to adapt to changes in market conditions and trends.
Candidates should have:
- 3-5 years of experience as a marketing specialist or similar role.
- Experience generating new leads through a variety of channels, such as SEO, content marketing, email marketing, and paid search, supported by lead nurturing strategies.
- Proven work experience in digital marketing; knowledge of the latest technologies and tactics.
- Demonstrable experience leading performance marketing campaigns, driving business results.
- Highly creative and curious, with experience identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns to engage, attract, nurture, and convert.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent digital media editing tools (ex. Canva).
- A strong handle on client relationship management software (Salesforce) and marketing automation software (Hubspot).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should also:
- Hold a bachelor’s in marketing or have relevant work experience in the field.
- Have basic knowledge of solar, renewable energy, sustainability, etc.
- Have experience working in a small business environment.
- Be capable of working on a team as well as operating independently with confidence.
