Job Summary
Busy dermatology practice seeks a talented professional to join their team as a Medical Assistant. Medical assistants must work cooperatively with providers and administrative staff to make quality patient care a priority. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for rooming patients, collecting history and reason for the visit, scribing, and assisting with procedures. As a representative of the practice, this important position requires exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
The primary functions of a Medical Assistant include:
•Gather and record patient information including medical history
•Accurately scribe and record visit details for the provider
•Assist with in-office surgical procedures
•Inject local anesthetic
•Remove sutures
•Inform patients of pathology/laboratory results
•Answer patient questions via phone
To be successful in the Medical Assistant role, you must have:
•Previous customer service experience
•Ability to be detail oriented
•Ability to maintain confidentiality
•Reliability and dependability
•Willingness to learn new information
•Analytical thinking and problem solving skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Ability to thrive in a team based environment
In addition, priority will be given to candidates who also have:
•Medical assistant experience in a medical and/or dental office
